Goal
Participants should gain an understanding of the key concepts of Software Project Management and be familiarized with typical implementations of key activities.
Contents
- Project Organization: structure, roles, inter-disciplinary projects, multi-site project management, customer communication, teamwork, project infrastructure
- Project Planning: estimation, scheduling, contingency planning, risk management, software development cycles
- Project Tracking: tracking infrastructure, effort tracking, progress tracking, defect tracking, test tracking, functional coverage, milestones, performance indicators, progress reporting, customer involvement
- Configuration Management: life cycle of software configuration items, baselines, configuration audits, transfers and deliveries, multi-site / multi-project configuration management
- Requirements Management: requirement elicitation, requirements analysis, requirement change control, change request life cycle, multi-site / multi-project change control
- Project Closure and Evaluation: closure activities, evaluation report, process database
- Software Development Technology: significance of tools and methods for the various software development and management activities
- Subcontract and Supplier Management: subcontractor/supplier selection, contracting, communication, progress tracking, acceptance of deliverables, subcontractor evaluation
- Software Development Process: organization-wide process improvement, process planning, process tailoring, process monitoring and auditing, software quality assurance, statistical process control, Capability Maturity Model Integration
Participants
Software project leaders, software development managers, senior software engineers as prospective software managers.
Duration
2 or 3 days, depending on background of participants.

The course is offered in English or in German.
Costs
On-site (on your premises) 300 Euro per day and per participant with a minimum of 10 participants and a recommended maximum of 15, plus tax and expenses.
