Goal
Participants should be made aware of the importance of software development processes and gain a basic understanding of how to improve them.
Contents
- Motivation, why processes are important: the 6 main aspects of software development, what makes process improvement special, essential processes in software development, process maturity and complexity, return on investment, success stories
- Model-based process improvement: the need for process improvement models, CMMI background and history, CMMI overview, data on CMMI, weaknesses of CMMI, staged vs. continuous models, other process improvement models
- How to improve processes: preconditions for a successful program for software process improvement, approaches to process improvement, do's and don'ts

Development managers, quality manager, quality engineers, project leaders, senior software developers.
