Goal
Participants should obtain an overview of the contents and purpose of CMMI and all its key process areas.
Contents
- CMMI background, history and motivation: the 6 main aspects of software development, the need for process improvement models, CMMI history, data on CMMI, return on investment, success stories
- Structure of the model: the nature of CMMI, levels, goal, key practices, staged vs. continuous models
- The CMMI levels and their characteristics: levels 1 to 5, overview of all key process areas
- Organizing process improvements: preconditions for a program for successful software process improvement, do's and don'ts
- Audits and assessments: self-assessments, cooperative assessments, certification assessments, organization of assessments
- CMMI critique and other models: weaknesses of CMMI, other process improvement models

Software project leaders, software development managers, software quality manager, software quality engineers, software engineers involved in process improvement.

Costs
