CMM/CMMI Models
SW-CMM v1.1
The SEI (still) offers the SW-CMM text to download. Get the technical report #24 and #25 (CMU/SEI-93-TR-24 and CMU/SEI-93-TR-25).
CMMI v1.1
CMMI text from SEI. There are umpteen versions available. What we recommend is the CMMI-SW. There is a heated debate over staged vs. continuous representation, if you are not sure we would suggest the staged version. It's 600+ pages should be sufficient to get you started.

The SEI publishes twice a year maturity profiles (level distribution) and other statistics on CMM and CMMI assessments.

Software Engineering Information Repository (SEIR)
The SEIR is an impressive collection of SPI related presentations and documents. Access is free, but you must register, which is well worth the effort.
Software Technology Roadmap (STR)
Excellent introductory material in many, somewhat arbitrarily selected software technology areas.

A hierarchical overview of software engineering topics. Complete with descriptions and endless lists of references.
StickyMinds
This site, devoted in principle to software testing, also has an excellent selection of short articles in other areas, such as project and process management. Somewhat difficult to navigate through its prime content.
